Brisbane survives FOUR first-half injuries as listless Suns embarrassed
Suns left red-faced after Lions injury crisis
Brisbane Lions have survived a horror injury toll to beat Gold Coast Suns by 41 points at Metricon Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions lost four players to injury in the first half, including key forward Eric Hipwood (ankle), defender Darcy Gardiner (shoulder) and midfielder Jarryd Lyons (corked quad).
But the Suns were unable to make the most of Brisbane's misfortune, kicking just two goals in the first three quarters as the Lions cruised to a comfortable victory.
Lachie Neale was best on ground for the Lions with 35 disposals and nine clearances, while Charlie Cameron kicked three goals.
The Suns were led by Touk Miller, who had 34 disposals and 10 clearances.
The win moves the Lions into fifth spot on the ladder, while the Suns remain 17th.
